You have to let me know when you finish Bunny! It's such a unique read, I love talking about it with people. Also, major congratulations on being almost done with your novel draft!! That's incredible! πŸŽ‰

I just finished it last night!! I'm going to write a post about it this week, but my thoughts are changing by the second πŸ˜† I feel like the more it settles into me and the more I read ABOUT it the more my thoughts shift. It's chaotic over here haha. I'm super eager to hear your thoughts too! It is REALLY unique.

and thank you!!! It's surreal but also scary because being done means querying and that's TERRIFYING.

So curious to hear your thoughts! It's definitely a wild one lol I haven't read much about it, but maybe I should just to see!

Eeek I bet!! I can totally understand that. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it goes well!

I love this round up! I love the concept of the round up! I loved the book Dial A for Aunties…have you read the other two books??

aw thank you!!! No I haven't! I was on a kick for a while where I kept (accidentally) reading debut authors and then being sad that I couldn't read anything else by them, so this will be a nice change! πŸ˜†

Also try Vera Wong’s unsolicited advice for murderers - same author and it’s hysterical

Oh yay, I'm so happy to hear that! I've heard it mentioned for so long and kept not reading it for absolutely no good reason (I think it was the comedic murder mystery/thriller that was throwing me β€” it's my first time reading something like this!) but the goal with audiobooks for me is to be so good I forget I'm dying while running and so far this one is doing the job 🀣

Great newsletter today. Writing is rewriting, as the saying goes, and as I like to say, "If it was easy, everyone would do it!"

Picking a new seasonal fragrance is fun. My every day scent to has been Laila by Geir Ness for many years, but I recently tried their Norsk SNØ and I love it. So, why not?

Thank you so much, Jennifer! And for the reminder πŸ˜… It's so weird to think back to a year ago when I thought this book was done, or six months ago when I thought revisions would take two months (how?!) but I'm finally at this place of "the book will be done when it's done" and balancing that with not over-writing or getting TOO stuck but it's SUCH a balance as you know!

aw yes exactly, why not?! I'm pretty new to fragrances myself so I'm enjoying discovering what I like. It's fun to mix it up and have that seasonal scent to look forward to! I just looked Laila up, it sounds beautiful. My mom especially loves lavender. I feel like she'd enjoy this! And the citrus in Norsk SNØ sounds right up my alley!

Thank you for reading and commenting. πŸ–€

The funny thing is we all do that underestimating of our rewriting time, even a book editor!

As to Laila, I think they have a mother's day thing every year that's a purse full of scents and goodies. Maybe they still have it available?

hahaha so cute right?!?! I have no idea what they plan to do with it after its use as an Airbnb (I don't think its permanent but I could be wrong) but I hope they keep it around for day trips or as a museum or event space or something because it's just so adorable

Thank you!!!! Second to last HOPEFULLY!!! Who knows what will happen when I start reading the "final" edit draft again though. πŸ˜†

In that case you'll love it!! It's very heavy with early 2000s nostalgia and lots and lots of band references, including lots of playlists (including "Konstantine" which when I saw I was like 🀯) There is one part towards the end that I was not happy about, but I still think it's worth reading and I'm dying to talk to you about the book if you decide to read it!

Isn't that Polly Pocket Airbnb so cute?! I know, I want to just drive by even if we can't rent it (I think they're doing very limited bookings) because it's just so adorable

And thank you!!! ugh, same! Right now I'm just trying to stick to my guns about cut off times for creative writing. So, client work all day until about 2pm, then write until 4 or 5pm, then I usually check Slack or emails one more time before exercising to shake off the day and reading for 30-60 min before dinner.

In an ideal world I like do most of the admin stuff Mondays (socials, emails, organize) most of the actual WORK Tue/Thur) and then have Wednesdays/Fridays to do very minimal client work (just check ins and urgent stuff) but, we'll see. When it's crazy it's usually tough. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!!
